I am a development professional based in Washington D.C. I am a political scientist by training, with a DPhil (PhD) in International Development from the University of Oxford. My doctoral research was on Nigeria’s historical and current efforts to diversify its economy away from oil, and the influence of politics on these reform efforts.
My broad expertise is on the institutions and political economy of natural resources management, power sector reforms, service delivery and economic development in Africa. I also work on south-south and Africa-China economic relations. More information about my work is available on the publications page and my CV on LinkedIn.
This blog used to be a platform for a whole range of things on policy – commentary, analysis and collaborations. Now it is a space to share information and ideas with like minds on the political economy of development.
